Filling the Void
Throughout my own experience and observation of others, I have noticed that we often feel a sense of void, something missing, some sort of disconnection and we try to get rid of this with some form of self medication. We reach for something or someone externally to fill that for us and be a substitute for the void. In doing this however, we don't actually deal with the void and instead just sort of put a band aid on it that we will need to do again and again so as to continue to not feel that void.
